About This Course

This course on Exploring Ethnomedicinal Heritage in villages of Goa includes module’s containing the introduction to ethnobotany, Introduction to ethnomedicine and exploring its cultural significance within the villages of Goa. Course begins with understanding of ethnobotany, a interdisciplinary field that studies the relationship between plants and human cultures. Further we understand the scope and goals of ethnobotany. This section introduces us to the field of ethnomedicine. It focuses on the traditional healing practices and plant medicinal knowledge of specific cultural groups or communities.

Course Modules also focuses on villages of Goa, exploring the cultural significance of ethnomedicine. We try to understand the unique healing traditions and plants medicinal knowledge that have been preserved within Goan villages for generations. We realize the importance of preserving ethnomedicinal heritage for future generation. Plant Description and medicinal uses of 30 species found in Goa is also explained
